Plums ripened purple, apples turned red…
Share
As life moves on in the garden, we can begin to enjoy the taste of all our efforts; plums swell and sweeten, apples ripen and juicy tomatoes laden their trusses. Fill your pockets. Eat them slowly. And savour them. Because, all too soon, the harvest is complete. These days are very special - this is what all the hard work is for - to be able to breathe in the scent of ripening fruit and to count your blessings - to enjoy the view and give thanks for the process that got you here and for those who helped you along the way. These warm, glorious days are to be treasured, for they will soon ebb into winter, when the cold can feel unbearable. Remember though, that as a result and often without our knowledge, seeds await patiently - in the most unexpected of places - for the warmer days to come - seeds that remind us that despite desperately cold days, renewed strength and new life - and hope - are all just around the corner.
Enjoy your harvest days.
